On September 23, 2026, OpenAI brought voice to ChatGPT Work on web and mobile and added plugins to Live voice. Here's what you get and how to use it.

How a voice task runs
- Ask out loud. Work can draft documents, presentations and spreadsheets, draw on connected apps, or operate in a browser.
- Connect if asked. For a plugin, you may first need to connect the app and sign in. Your existing app connections, permissions and usage limits carry over.
- Approve on screen. You get an on-screen review with controls to approve or decline. Approving by voice isn't supported.
- Hang up anytime. If a task is still running when you end the call, it can continue in text.
- Switch devices. Start a conversation on the go and resume it on desktop.

Current limits
- Live voice doesn't support video or screen sharing.
- It can't currently find or add files from your ChatGPT Library.
